Hanukkah Hot Chocolate Balls
Directions
For Hanukkah this year, I decided to try out Hanukkah Hot Chocolate Balls. Hot Chocolate Balls were surprisingly easy to assemble and my kids loved the activity!
You'll need:
Semicircle molds (silicone or plastic)
Semicircle molds (silicone or plastic)
Blue and white chocolate candy melts
White hot chocolate mix
Mini marshmallows
Toothpicks or a small paint brush
Milk
1) Melt blue chocolate candy melts in the microwave, first at 30 second intervals and then at 15 section intervals.
2) Stir the chocolate candy melts until smooth.
3) Spread the chocolate into semicircle molds with the back of a spoon. Add a second layer and make sure the entire mold is covered until the edge.
4) Place the tray of molds into the refrigerator for 5 minutes.
5) Remove the tray and gently pop out the molds.
6) Put one semicircle of chocolate onto a round cookie cutter or wax paper.
7) Drop two tablespoons of white hot chocolate mix into the mold.
8) Sprinkle mini marshmallows into the mold until it fills.
9) Take a plate and put it in the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds until it is warm.
10) Place another chocolate semicircle onto that warm plate to melt the edges slightly.
11) Take that second semicircle and place it onto your mold filled with hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows.
12) Seal the ball closed with any extra chocolate that was melted from the plate.
13) Melt the white chocolate candy melts in the microwave, first at 30 second intervals and then at 15 section intervals.
14) Stir the white chocolate candy melts until smooth and use a small paint brush or toothpick to decorate your hot chocolate balls with a hanukkiyah or dreidels.
15) Let white chocolate dry for 5 minutes.
16) Heat up a mug of milk in the microwave (about one minute to a minute and a half at most).
17) Gently drop your Hanukkah hot chocolate ball into the warm milk and watch it sway back and forth until it pops open.
