Easy Hamantaschen Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine (1 stick)
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
Fillings of your choice
Directions for Hamantaschen Dough
1) Melt the margarine
2) Mix with the oil and sugar
3) Stir in eggs and orange juice
4) Add flour and baking powder
5) Refrigerate your dough for 2-3 hours (or ideally overnight).
6) Place wax paper or parchment paper on your surface and sprinkle your rolling pin with flour.
7) Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Feel free to sprinkle extra flour on the dough (a handful) if the dough is feeling sticky.
8) Cut into circles with a drinking glass.
9) Add one small spoonful of filling to each circle (just a teaspoon should be plenty!).
10) Shape your hamantaschen into triangles, gently sealing the corners. For a tighter seal, lightly dampen the edges of your dough with water or seal further with an egg wash.
11) Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
